3 Useful Tips before studying for your next exam

Join a community

Find online forums specifically related to the topic you are studying. Sign up and participate in them, join in on the conversation and try to answer any questions somebody have. This will help you think outside your current mindset of subject area and you might learn something useful as a result. In these groups you might discover past students of the subject that have passed the exam or teachers that can give you useful pointers and help you find study materials.
I highly recommend that you get it. It's called Learn More - Study Less.

Setup a study group

Setup a study group with your peers who are serious about getting good results in the subject. Assign a designated place and time to meetup and importantly an end time to finish at. By having people around you to bounce your ideas off and ask questions helps your memory work better. Also, having people with alternative points of view might help you overcome a problem or mental block about a certain area. A task for one of the group each week or however often you want to meet up, might be to devise a quiz at the start of the meetup about the subject or chapter you are studying. Then have each other correct the quizzes and note any areas where you struggled and use the quiz as the discussion mechanism.

Reward Yourself.

Giving yourself a reward at the end of a study period is a very positive way to study. If you have set goals in your study plan, also set aside a reward of those goals. A reward acts as a good motivational tool to help you avoid procrastination. Some examples of rewards could be to go to the cinema or to have a meal at your favorite restaurant. Related to the study groups, you could setup a group reward when you reach a certain point in your studies, such as going bowling. Keep a positive attitude at all times no matter how tough it gets.
